## What ExaminerIQ Does

ExaminerIQ is an AI essay assessment tool purpose-built for Singapore A-Level General Paper (Syllabus 8881). It uses 6 specialist AI agents orchestrated in a pipeline that mirrors how human examiners mark: analyse the question, evaluate Content (AO1), evaluate Language (AO2), synthesise a holistic grade, then annotate the essay with inline language corrections and content-improved passage rewrites. All scoring is calibrated to the official SEAB 8881 marking scheme.

## How It Works

1. **Paste Your Essay**: Students paste GP essay text or upload handwritten work via OCR. They enter the essay question they are answering.
2. **6-Agent AI Pipeline**: Six specialist AI agents process the essay in a staged pipeline with parallel execution where possible.
3. **Full Assessment Report**: In under 90 seconds, students receive a letter grade (A-U), mark out of 50, Content band (/30), Language band (/20), 11-dimension sub-scores, top 3 strengths with quoted evidence, top 3 areas for improvement, a personalised action plan, inline language corrections, and content-improved passage rewrites.

## 6-Agent Pipeline Architecture

ExaminerIQ differs from general-purpose AI tools like ChatGPT by using a 6-agent pipeline:

### Step 1 (Sequential)
- **Agent 1: Question Analyser** — Classifies the question type (evaluate/discuss/explain/compare/assess), extracts key terms, identifies scope limitations, implicit demands, common pitfalls, and Band 5 indicators.

### Step 2 (Parallel)
- **Agent 2: Content Evaluator** — Evaluates Content (AO1) across 6 sub-dimensions, each scored 0-5, for a total of /30. Receives the question analysis as context.
- **Agent 3: Language Evaluator** — Evaluates Language (AO2) across 5 sub-dimensions, each scored 0-4, for a total of /20. Assessed independently of content to prevent bias.

### Step 3 (Parallel)
- **Agent 4: Holistic Marker** — Synthesises all evaluations into a final grade (A-U), mark out of 50, with top 3 strengths (with quoted evidence), top 3 areas for improvement (with specific advice), and a personalised action plan.
- **Agent 5: Language Corrector** — Produces the student's essay with every language error highlighted and corrected inline (grammar, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary, sentence structure, register).
- **Agent 6: Content Improver** — Identifies 5-8 weak passages and rewrites them with stronger arguments, evidence, or analysis.

### Step 4: Confidence Check
If the holistic marker's confidence score is below 0.7, the system flags the result for human review.

### Content (AO1) — 6 sub-dimensions, each scored 0-5, total /30
1. **Thesis & Position** — Clarity, defensibility, and maintenance throughout the essay

5. **Relevance to Question** — Paragraph-level relevance mapping to the question demands
6. **Depth & Insight** — Original thinking and beyond-obvious analysis

### Language (AO2) — 5 sub-dimensions, each scored 0-4, total /20
7. **Grammar & Accuracy** — Errors categorised by type with examples
8. **Vocabulary** — Range, precision, and appropriateness
9. **Sentence Structure** — Variety, complexity, and control
10. **Fluency & Coherence** — Flow, transitions, and logical connectors
11. **Register & Tone** — Formality, consistency, and GP appropriateness

## Token Earning System

Students can earn additional tokens through:
- Completing their profile: +2 tokens (one-time)
- Weekly streaks: +2 bonus tokens for marking at least 1 essay per week for 4 consecutive weeks
- Referrals: +3 tokens per referral (referee must sign up and use first token)
- Daily login: +1 token per week (max)
- Leaderboard rewards: +1 to +5 tokens based on monthly improvement ranking

Token bank cap: 15 tokens maximum for earned tokens. Purchased tokens are exempt from the cap.
